I was a little turned off by the price of this car seat, but I pulled the trigger anyway. Let me say that I have never questioned my purchase. My kid loves it. She can see well from it and it is comfortable enough to sleep in. My wife and I switch it between cars and with the latch system it it takes about 1 minute to switch cars. Read the manual and you won't have any trouble switching from rear to front facing or removing the cover for cleaning. It is simple and always reassuring. ......

This is our third britax purchase. We have one in each of our cars and just bought a third for my mom's car. This car seat is wonderful. My son loves it and it is easy to install. I have seen how friends car seats latch systems work, and they all wish they bought the marathon. My husband loves it too because the fire department rates it at the top for car seat safety. He is a firefighter and installs car seats all the time. This one by far gets his vote. We have our second baby on the way, due this fall and that baby will go in the marathon facing backwards. This is the biggest and most secure car seat I have ever seen. It is a giant among car seats. Even the way it sits in a car makes it feel more secure. It does take some sizing which I did with the child before I put it in the car. Putting it in was pretty fast and easy too, which is not something I have experienced before.

It is very easy to get children in and out of this seat. The fabric is wonderful and soft and buying it in granite will probably give it some longevity.

I spent hours researching the best car seat. I knew she was going to be in the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat - Adventure for the first months, but I needed to purchase a car seat that will last her until she's ready for toddler booster seat (which in California is 40 pounds or more).

After reading Consumer Reports and online reviews, I decided on the Britax Marathon (can be used for children up to 65 pounds). I'm not too sure how I will use it as a booster seat, but it can be done.

The Britax Marathan isn't cheap, it can get QUITE pricey. I've seen deals online ranging from $60 to $300. Yes $60!! It was at Target Online but they did honor it for a few people. So knowing what I want early has helped me get some sweet deals!

My daughter was in her Keyfit 30 until she was 7 months old. Then she outgrew it and we placed her into the Britax Marathon. We used the same Infantino car seat cover from the Keyfit 30 on the Britax which helped with the transition.

The Britax looks heavy, but it's actually quite light. It's easy to setup, AFTER we found the instruction manual, which was hidden and tucked well under the Britax. The Britax is also accepted on the airplane too.

I won't go into the safety standards because lots of other reviewers have done that already. From reading their reviews & Consumer Reports, I know this car seat has great safety ratings.

I do recommend that if you plan on getting this car seat to invest in a few accessories. I know the Infantino Car Seat Cover, Blue Chocolate Circles seat covers works well on it. I also invested in Kiddopotamus Cushystraps Super Soft Strap Covers, Pink Bunnies because my daughter falls asleep easily in the Britax and her head always droops forward.

We bought this seat for out 5 yr old who was starting to out grow her Britax Wizard its 5 yr old and and she was getting to the point she didnt want to be in a baby carseat who cna blame her we tried a regular booster but my husband is in the navy and we are stationed over seas and the drivers scare me out here and we are moving soon and shell be too small to sit one the plane as is and u can bring in a regular booster on there and even tho she likes her regular booster she LOVES this seat she can even buckle in herself and she loves that and even tho she is in a 5 point harness she doesn't feel like a baby. We also got this seat after our graco booster kept moving down so it wasnt sitting right when we get to our next duty station shell be right around 6 and then ill be ok with her moving to a booster booster. and this one will go to our 3 yr old mighty midget and our new baby well get hers till she is two and ready to move into this seat. I dont think i could have picked a better seat for traveling on plane or car. I love Britax because of there ease to love from many different cars and planes my sisters and I none of us make a lot of money wouldnt use anything else for them. its worth saving up for. To find a car they wouldnt fit in i havent yet done so have all our britax and i have installed and used in many different cars. IT might be trickier for some then others but with the manual u shouldnt have a problem at all.......

We have always owned Britax seats and have been very happy until we purchased this one. The straps are always twisted as others have stated and it is really a pain to have to fix them every time we take our 4 year old in and out. We wanted something that was safe and provided a booster with harness option and this is it, but we are really disappointed. Especially for the money. We are going to tough it out because of that. My daughter also complains that it bothers her back on long car trips because the back is so hard and does not have great lumbar support. Wished had seen in person before buying.......

We bought this item 8 months ago for my first child because we wanted the best car seat we could find. Not knowing that much about car seats we went for an expensive and highly rated seat from Amazon users. I figure the combination of both of those should contribute a significant part to my child's safety. This possibly is not the best way to purchase an item but car seat descriptions are confusing and so full of legalese that reading about each model from a manufactures website is not much help. Regardless I am so very happy about the first one I bought that i have just ordered a 2nd one for my younger child who in the last 8 months has grown out of his old one. As others have commented it is indeed heavy and not that easy to put in but the end result is a seat that does not tip over when going around corners, does not let the child sneak out of the arm restraints when your not looking, and comfortable for the child so they don't complain about sitting in it for long periods...(not that this changes anything as they are staying there whether they like it or not). but at least they are happy. Point is buy this car seat, the fact that it happens to be heavy and bit hard to put in has very little bearing when deciding about your child's safety....so suck it up...your baby is safer :)......

For now I am reviewing the Britax Frontier for installation only since that seems to be the #1 complaint. I am giving it 3 stars at this point b/c all I have done is install it in my van and I feel it could be easier to install, but it certainly is not impossible. I will start with two pieces of advice - read the manual and know up front that it will take time to get it right if you are using the seat belt(long belt path install for me). If you do not read the manual you will find the seat impossible to install. Half of what took so long for me was just understanding the seat itself (different than any other seat I've installed) and exactly to what the manual was referring. Once I figured out exactly where the belt need to be it wasn't that hard to install. I did need to re-thread the belt three times, but that was b/c my car kept locking the belt and I didn't have enough slack. Once I had my husband hold the belt out for more slack I was done in 5 minutes with a TIGHT fit. I am a stickler for a super tight fit(very little moment to ZERO movement). Overall it took me 1 hour to install, but if I were to undo it right now, I believe I could reinstall perfectly in less than 10 minutes. ......

We purchased this seat for our almost-3 year old son when our daughter outgrew her infant car seat. We loved our Britax Roundabout, and after reading the pros and cons of this and other car seats opted to stay loyal to the Britax brand. We vacation a great deal, which for our family involves a lot of driving, so having a comfortable chair for our son was important. The padding on the seat, both for his bottom and his back, is excellent. The padding along the straps to protect his neck is fantastic! I wish it was standard on all Britax models. The side impact protection around the head is great and provides some added support when he sleeps. My son is in the 95% for height and weight and we were able to place the seatbelt buckle in the middle slot without discomfort for him. The shoulder strap height adjusts easily, but only before the seat is attached to the car. Getting the seat into the car is a bit of a challenge because of the placement of the adjustment straps behind the seat back. There is a bit of maneuvering required to tighten the seat down properly with the LATCH system. As my son has not hit 40 lbs we have not had to try the seatbelt connection yet, so I am unable to comment on the ease or difficulty of that aspect. We have the Frontier and a Roundabout car seat in our Honda Accord and can still fit an adult between the two car seats. There is no extra room to move, and it is not comfortable for long drives, but there is enough room for a 3rd adult to still fit in the car when required. We used the same Infantino car seat cover from the Keyfit 30 on the Britax which helped with the transition. The Britax looks heavy, but it's actually quite light. It's easy to setup, AFTER we found the instruction manual, which was hidden and tucked well under the Britax. The Britax is also accepted on the airplane too. I won't go into the safety standards because lots of other reviewers have done that already. From reading their reviews & Consumer Reports, I know this car seat has great safety ratings. I do recommend that if you plan on getting this car seat to invest in a few accessories. I know the Infantino Car Seat Cover, Blue Chocolate Circles seat covers works well on it. I also invested in Kiddopotamus Cushystraps Super Soft Strap Covers, Pink Bunnies because my daughter falls asleep easily in the Britax and her head always droops forward. ......

This is the biggest and most secure car seat I have ever seen. It is a giant among car seats. Even the way it sits in a car makes it feel more secure. It does take some sizing which I did with the child before I put it in the car. Putting it in was pretty fast and easy too, which is not something I have experienced before. It is very easy to get children in and out of this seat. The fabric is wonderful and soft and buying it in granite will probably give it some longevity. I did research before I found the one I thought was the safest when our latest grew out of an infant seat. I have probably purchased twenty car seats between children and grandchildren (and a DIL who gave them away every time one of her three children grew out of one). THIS is the only one I remember for its quality.......
